2012 END OF YEAR CATCH UP WITH: A DARK ORBIT
Hey guys – what have you been up to for the last few months?
The last few months, ADO has been in a rebuilding phase and working really hard with our 2 new members John and Jason. We have been putting the finishing touches to the mixing of our album, “Parhelion”, and writing tons of new stuff to get our new chemistry down. This new stuff is insane!
How has 2012 been for you? Highlights? Any particular low points?
2012 has been very eventful for us as much as it has been slow. Low points are the loss of founding members and the constant prolonging of our next release because of other issues as well. The highlights are the gaining of 2 of the strongest and most musical members we have ever had which has made us tighter than we have ever been as a group and literally we are writing our most brutal and beautiful stuff ever. I can’t wait for people to hear were we are taking our sound. Another highlight was opening for Between The Buried and Me / Periphery and opening for that near sold out crowd.
We’re on the final run up to Christmas and the end of the year – what are you busy cramming into the final few weeks?
The final mix/master/release of “Parhelion”!
What releases from 2012 have you been particularly impressed with?
What do the band want from Santa for Christmas?
A perfect 2013 for ADO!….and to open for Meshuggah!!!
2013 - what can we expect from A Dark Orbit?
You can expect the best year from ADO! We are releasing the new record (finally), working on all new music and hopefully another new release by the end of 2013. We also are planning many weekend shows outside of St. Louis and we plan to make it back to the UK in the Summer! We hope people get tired of hearing about us!
Final message for fans?
Please don’t forget about us or give up on us. Many things are out of our control….but trust us…we are coming! FULL STEAM AHEAD!

No Consequence line up 2011
Simultaneously progressive, brutal and catchy, NO CONSEQUENCE are technically impressive without geek exclusivity and their genre crossing talent produces music that is as challenging to pigeonhole as it is to safely absorb.
Their debut album was released on Basick Records in 2009 entitled "In The Shadow Of Gods" to a receptive audience…
"Meshing big melodies with sizable savagery, impressive technicality, and an experimental sensibility that’s a joy to indulge." - ROCK SOUND
"This really is a blistering debut album, fast and ferocious but the one thing that you always feel when listening is that the guys are always completely in control. Every track and structure is measured and purposeful… taking technical to its full potential." - Thrash Hits
"This is simply a flawless debut album bursting with enthusiasm and invention and will sate the appetite of even the most hardened metal fan." - Sonic Abuse

INTERVIEW: Paul Green (The Arusha Accord)
In July last year The Arusha Accord announced they were going on hiatus until further notice, hung up their guitars and packed their vocalists away in an airtight box. And that was that. Tech fans mourned. God was allegedly so angry he shook the sky.
And like relentless rabid badgers Basick never gave up on The Arusha Accord, poking them with sticks at every opportunity until we ground them down because good bands should not be allowed to languish in obscurity. I mean…look how good they are - look at this happy baby!! LOOK AT IT!
Today we’re pleased to say that Arusha are back, Back for Good, back safe and sound in the arms of the Basick family where we plan to keep them locked in the cellar, pumping out complex time signatures until their fingers fall off from leprosy.
The deal will see a worldwide re-release of the bands debut album ‘The Echo Verses’ as a 2-disc digi-pack collectors edition on April 18th 2011, which will be bundled with the bands original debut ‘Nightmares Of The Ocean’ EP, along with exclusive videos, photos and multimedia content, as well as much sought after guitar/bass and drum tabs to each of the band’s songs.
The band are also currently working hard at writing for their follow up record, also due to be released with Basick in the not-so-distant future.
Deep within the confines of his Basick prison cell, vocalist Paul Green gave us this insightful interview.
NAME: Paul Green
BAND: The Arusha Accord
I love The Arusha Accord. Where have you been and why have my ears been denied your technical spasticity?
Thanks :) In all honesty we’ve been taking a break from music for the past few months. As everyone knows we announced our hiatus during the summer, which has meant we could concentrate on other bits in our lives such as University. It’s also given us a breather from practising/shows etc so we can write parts that will hopefully form the skeleton for our new release.
You’ve returned home to Basick. How does it feel to be part of the family again? Do we need to nail you down so you don’t escape again?
It’s great to be back! We’ve always had a close relationship with Basick & Barley.
He’s been like a big brother to us since we met him at our 3rd show. I think that the bands Basick sign & the label ethic speak for itself. Plus some of our best buds are in those other bands so its win win!!!No need to nail us down we’re home for good!
For those people unaware of The Arusha Accord – how would you describe your music to them and why should they part with their hard earned pennies to own something of yours?
Complex, Layered, Wacky, Lucid, Vile & Serene. It’s a everything and then it’s the opposite in the next bar, it’s unpredictable at best! We spend a very long time making sure our tracks continue to offer something new on each listen. As pretentious as it sounds we want our music to have legacy and not short term success.
What are three things you would like to accomplish with the band in the next year?
1. some real headway on the new record
2. to make an impact in the US/Rest of the World with this new re-release
3. to try new methods & styles within our music, expanding on what we have achieved to create something truly special
4. free Nelson Mandela
What question are you tired of answering in interviews?
Everybody and I mean even people who know us well as a band assume that Alex and I are brothers. It doesn’t piss me off but Green is a pretty common English surname & everyone knows Alex is actually my dad!
Is sex with a robot okay if for all intents and purposes it looks like a person?
Personally I wouldn’t , however my good friend Pete told me once he wished some mannequins were real because he’d love a piece! Therefore I think Pete would probably do a robot chick as well and he’s a good friend, I couldn’t hold it against him, so its fine by me! On the subject, I heard R2D2 was just a giant Flesh light?!
Here’s a big shitty stick. Who you going to beat with it?
Everyone who likes to have a negative opinion on music but has zero knowledge to back it up! f*cking idiots!!!!!!!!
